  2. The creation of Israel was the worst mistake in modern history.

  3. I put George Kennan's Organized Political Warfare Policy at #1... which turned against America with the Patriot Act in 2001.

Yeah, same time period as the "foundation" of Israel. The Post-WWII "Never Again" Consensus formation.

  4. Although American Empire had begun under McKinley, it REALLY took off with Kennan's policy and the Cold War. Containment wasn't the wrong policy... the "how" was the wrong policy... its' "fatal flaw".

  5. Israel is a problem of Tribal Nationalism. Israel has run amock with it. America has the opposite problem. It has become Imperialistic. America needs to get back to the pre-McKinley tribal (not racial) nationalism. The sweet spot lies in the middle, methinkes.

America only worked for as long as it did by westward expansion and restriction and repression of nomadic/ indigenous peoples. Once they reached the Pacific Ocean things began to get dicey (US Civil War, etc.)

  6. Hitler turned Germans into tribal (racial) nationalists which led to their anti-Jewish pogroms. Israel has the same problem today with Arabs. IMO, a multi-racial nationalism is a preferred form. It's difficult, but only the Japanese live on a tiny Island. Not everyone can be "saved" by geography.

  7. ...or perhaps the better word is "cursed" with it. When you become imperialistic, your homeland is often forced to diversify. The UK suffered from being an Island who's population was conquered by foreign elites and which pitted against the elites and local vassals of other foreign invaders and became conditioned to multi-culturalism thereby. The Japanese had reached the "war-bride" (Euripides, "Andromache") stage with Korean comfort women, but never really consolidated their Empire. But then, they're really a hybrid endogamy/exogamy culture. The elites are more exogamous, marrying for alliances with other Japanese clans... much as Britain/UK was, but with greater foreign involvement. I don't think Japanese reached out to China, et al, for intermarriages.

  8. In that sense, they remain endogamous. The forced endogamy in the US was a problem that kept slavery (and Jim Crow) viable way beyond its' useful life.
